Victoria Potente, LCSW | Trauma-Informed Therapist in Pennsylvania
Welcome — I’m Victoria Potente, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania with more than ten years of experience supporting adults and couples through the moments in life that feel heavier than expected.
I’m an experienced, grounded, and culturally responsive therapist who believes that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to help you understand your patterns, reconnect with parts of yourself you’ve had to quiet, and feel more supported — individually and in your relationships.
Why I Became a Therapist
Like many people drawn to helping roles, I arrived here with intention. My own lived experiences showed me how life-changing it can be when someone finally understands, validates, and guides you with compassion rather than judgment and I wanted to be that person for others.
Over the years, I’ve become especially passionate about supporting people who tend to carry more than their share:
First-generation adults balancing cultural expectations and independence
People raised to be the “strong one,” mediator, or emotional caretaker
Adults navigating ADHD and overwhelm
New parents adjusting to a completely new identity
Couples trying to stay connected through stress, conflict, or family dynamics
These are the people who often hold everything together on the outside, while falling apart on the inside.
If this sounds familiar, let me help you find steadiness, clarity, and meaningful connection again.
Why I Created Amplify Mental Health
Amplify was built from the belief that healing happens when your voice is honored, your autonomy is respected, and care feels accessible. I created this practice to offer transparent, person-centered therapy that supports people emotionally and practically, including during seasons when finances feel uncertain.
At its core, Amplify exists to amplify your voice, your clarity, and your capacity for growth, even when life has made those things feel distant.
Communities I Hold with Care
I am especially passionate about supporting:
Immigrants and children of immigrants
First-generation adults
People navigating cultural, familial, or religious expectations
LGBTQIA+ individuals seeking affirming therapy
Those unpacking the impact of childhood and family dynamics
As a child of immigrants raised in a multi-faith family, I understand firsthand the emotional complexity of identity, belonging, and expectation. I bring this lived understanding, alongside clinical training, into every space I hold.
My Values as a Therapist
-
Therapy is a partnership. You bring your lived experience; I bring my training. We work together to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and create meaningful change without power struggles or pressure.
-
I don’t assume. I ask.
Your emotions, reactions, and patterns make sense in the context of where you come from. Instead of criticism, we explore with openness, especially when you’re navigating cultural, family, or relational complexities. -
I believe you already have the capacity for growth. My job is to help you access it — not to direct your life or tell you what decisions to make. You set the pace; I help you stay connected to what matters most.
-
Lasting change happens when we pause, notice, and understand. Whether we’re exploring emotions, triggers, or relationship patterns, we move intentionally so insight can become grounded action.
-
Your story doesn’t exist in a vacuum. The communities, values, expectations, and relationships that shaped you matter. Therapy becomes a place where all parts of your identity are acknowledged and respected.
-
People open up when they feel safe, steady, and supported. I bring a consistent, grounded presence so you can explore difficult emotions at your own pace.
-
You’re not starting from zero. Even if things feel messy or heavy, you’ve already been surviving, adapting, and pushing through. We identify your strengths and build on them to create patterns that feel more authentic and sustainable.
-
Whether we’re working individually or as a couple, I hold deep respect for the relationships that shape you — including the one you have with yourself. My approach is always in service of helping you build connected, supportive, emotionally honest relationships.
